Little Meadow is a beautiful cottage for four with a hot tub overlooking the Lake District beyond. Named after the field that it is built next to where young calves normally graze in the summer months, this cottage is an ideal place to relax with friends or family.
The bricks used in the construction of Little Meadow are oven baked fire clay, made in the traditional manner. The beams and trusses are constructed from Douglas fir and all the windows and doors have been hand made from hard wood and seasoned oak. The doors are hung on cast iron hinges and have traditional “snek” fastenings.
The cottage features:
- Hot tub
- Oil fired central heating
- Cast iron wood burner style electric fire
- Fully fitted oak kitchen with dishwasher & washer/tumble dryer
- Free wifi
Custom made stairs lead to a gallery landing with window seats overlooking the courtyard. The Master Bedroom has en-suite shower room and king sized bed. The room is furnished with hand crafted, joiner built oak furniture and a wall hung digital flatscreen tv.
The family bathroom has a large cast bath with shower over, modern basin with monobloc taps and heated towel rail. The second bedroom has twin beds and hand crafted oak furniture. The walls around the second floor have unique tiny windows, formerly air vents for the hay barn.
Enjoy the outside large patio area for relaxing, eating al fresco or simply enjoying the view.
Stayed at Little Meadow for 3 nights. Clean and comfortable cottage. Hot tub was well utilised by the boys. Quiet and peaceful location with cows right in front of us. Waking up to cows mooing, sheep baa-Ing and the sun streaming in the window was just what I needed.
My boyfriend and I enjoyed a weeks stay here in June in Little Meadow. We booked at the last minute so didn’t really know what to expect. However it was absolute perfection from the beautiful cottage which was extremely clean and tidy, the fantastic hot tub, which was great during the day and so relaxing during the evening watching the stars, through to the surroundings which were so peaceful.
My boyfriend and I booked a week’s holiday in mid October and stayed in Little Meadow. The cottage was beautiful, spacious yet cosy and very homely. We did a lot of mountain climbing and it was fabulous to have a hot tub to come back to – to rest the aching limbs under the stars!
